Salvation Army of Auburn – School Supply Drive
The Salvation Army of Auburn is hosting a School Supply Drive to support local students as they prepare for the upcoming school year. This community initiative aims to collect essential back-to-school items for children in need, ensuring they start the year equipped and confident.

Volunteer in the Garden and Help Feed Nevada County!
Interfaith Food Ministry’s effort with community gardens to feed the hungry began in 2013, led by the Garden Gals who started their garden to benefit the community in need with healthy produce. Approximately 20,000 pounds of fresh produce has been grown by the Garden Gals for IFM through the years.

S.R. Laws at Nevada City Winery
S.R. Laws is a Northern California singer-songwriter whose music blends Americana, folk, and roots rock with heartfelt storytelling. Raised in Marysville, he developed an early passion for music by sifting through discarded 45s collected by his father, a trash collector. This formative experience instilled in him a deep appreciation for classic sounds and narratives . Laws honed his songwriting skills in Austin, Texas, immersing himself in the city's vibrant music scene before returning to California. Now based in Sonoma County, he leads the band The Heartsleeves and performs across the state, including venues in San Francisco and Sacramento . His latest album, A.M. Sessions, recorded in Petaluma and Forestville, showcases his ability to craft "lyrical pictures" that resonate with listeners through personal and earnest lyrics . Laws' music continues to captivate audiences, offering a blend of nostalgic melodies and contemporary storytelling.

Beginning Bee Keeping w/ Neal Sullivan
Beginning Beekeeping with Neal Sullivan will take place on Saturday, May 3 from 12–2 PM at Sweetland Garden Mercantile in North San Juan (29435 State Hwy 49). This introductory class is designed for beginners but offers value for experienced beekeepers as well. Attendees will learn beekeeping basics, how to set up equipment, install hives, and understand bee biology.

Family Discovery Day
Family Discovery Day is a free genealogy and family history fair taking place on May 3, 2025, from 10 AM to 2 PM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Auburn, CA. Open to all, the event offers hands-on activities like creating a FamilySearch account, preserving family memories, exploring DNA testing, and fun options for kids. Spanish translation will be available.
